Forming the chrysalis which took about 24 hours

hard now and looks like a dead leaf. As the day went on it would tilt the cocoon to the left in the morning to the right in the evening and straight down in the middle of the day. It was the strangest thing.

He (or she) came out last night in right before John and I went to bed.. So we got Edith up so that she could see him (or her) before letting him go outside.

He hung out on the ball jar outside for about 16hours. It was raining this morning and I think he was waiting for the rain to pass. So we went out to visit him a couple of times. Right before Edith went down for her nap I saw him flit to the nearby tree to rest for a moment before traveling on his way to find a mate. So here is a picture of the beautiful orange wings.
