Our 48 hour adventure

So Beth went in for one of her biweekly check-ups here in Valdosta and during the NST (this is where the number of contractions and the baby's heartbeat are monitored). There was a perceived 'deceleration' event, which means that Bonnie's heartbeat possibly went to unsafe levels. So that prompted a half day hospital stay for Beth in Valdosta where she was monitored more closely, the results of which were okay.

Of course we followed up with the MDs in Tallahassee and they had us in today to follow up on everything and to see if we needed to have a baby today. So Beth got poked and prodded again for half a day (my wife really is quite impressive) in Tallahassee and it was pronounced that she and Bonnie were both in good shape. However, Beth needed to manage her activity level and her diet; translation: she needs to sit on her ass and keep eating like a diabetic.

We have another appointment on Friday in Tallahassee to make sure everything is within normal values. Currently our time table is next Tuesday we will check in for surgery and be in Tallahassee. Then at 5:30 am Wednesday it is baby time.

Today's extended ultrasound was really fun as we got to observe Bonnie moving around as well as her 'breathing' and other bodily functions. It has been a long two days but with some help from friends we have made it through.

I hope that the next e-mail that I send out will be next Wednesday when we have a healthy Beth and Bonnie all safe and sound.
