but what do they eat?

I was trying to explain to Edith what a vegetarian is, and as I was part of the way through explaining it she looked very confused and asked 'but what do they eat?'
I replied again that they eat veggies like broccoli and fruits. She still looked very confused and asked again:
but what do they eat?
So we just tabled this till she is older
